Micro-Credentials

Micro-Credential Framework

Micro-credentials are designed with a specific learning pathway which involves a study programme at the individuals own pace in a mainly online environment. In most cases individuals pursue Micro-credentials as they offer the flexibility for study, allowing to complete a programme in the individuals own time.

The business landscape is changing, and the pace of change continues to accelerate, compelling Bookkeeper’s / BAS Agents and business advisors across Australia to transform their business models, systems and processes.

Through continuous learning, ICB members can increase their level of knowledge, performance and engagement honing their skills across subjects that are relevant to their business and workplaces and to be more in line with the industry’s demand.

The future of bookkeeping will see versatile, skilled employees, BAS Agents and business advisors better equipped to meet this rapidly changing client need and market shift.

To be more in-demand and highly sought after!

ICB education and training provides our members with the ability to recognise opportunities, and the knowledge and skills to pursue them.

ICB micro-credential courses are equivalent to 2-10 hours of study including an inbuilt ICB assessment. When you have completed the course, you will be awarded a digital badge that represents the micro-credential.

Micro-credentials can be clustered towards larger units of competencies developed via a range of pathways.

This means a member may complete various micro-credential courses being offered based on their own needs and at their own pace, any may be used to apply credits towards an accredited qualification.

Yes, all ICB training will include in-built assessments which form part of your ICB membership requirements, with a small fee being imposed on registering for any ICB micro-credential training.

If you don’t complete the assessment, you won’t receive the micro-credential. You won’t be eligible to claim a digital badge and your CPE hours will not be automatically applied.

No, the micro-credential assessments are designed to replicate real world practice, while validating the competency requirements.  You may refer to the course or supporting resources to assist you.

ICB members have full access to our library of resources to supplement the learning materials provided as part of the credential.

ICB have introduced micro-credential training, which is relevant to the bookkeeping industry, keeps you abreast of legislative changes occurring within the industry and how it impacts careers as Professional Bookkeepers and Business Advisors along with providing additional Continued Professional Development (CPE).

ICB believe by introducing micro-credentials into our scope reflects what you have told us that you want to develop your professional capabilities and demonstrate your achievements.

You will have a set time frame to complete a series of multiple choice questions.

You must receive a score of at least 80% to pass the assessment.

You will need to register to complete the course work and assessment.

ICB encourage you to spend the recommended study time on the course material and read through the entire learning content, before attempting the assessment.
