ICB is very pleased to extend its positive relationship with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
As a recognised professional association under the TASA 2009 laws, we have strong interaction, collaboration, and consultation with the TPB.
The signing of the Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between our organisations allows further interaction and co-operative development and promotion of the BAS Agent community. These agreements are already proving most effective in promoting information exchange for the mutual benefit of both parties.
From the TPB:
The MOUs set out a clear and practical framework for both organisations to mutually engage and proactively share information (that can be legally shared) on matters of mutual interest. This may include matters relating to:
- compliance with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA), including the Code of Professional Conduct.
- continuing professional education/development opportunities.
- intelligence, operational matters, and de-identified data trends.
The MOU formalises a lot of our interactions with the TPB.
This certifies an intention and willingness by both ICB and TPB to work together for the benefit of our members who are BAS Agents and the BAS Agent regime.
It confirms our ability to discuss member issues with the TPB, it confirms our ability to represent you and advocate for you.
It enables the TPB to share more information with us so that we can then better inform and resource members.
