ACT COVID-19 Business Support Grant Grants will deliver support of $20,000 for employing businesses and $7,500 for non-employing businesses over the five-week lockdown period where those businesses' turnover has declined by 30 per cent or more as a result of the COVID-19 public health measures.

Applications will open at 9am on 26th August 2021.

On 31st August, The Australian and ACT Governments announced an expansion of the COVID-19 Business Support Grants to align with the extension of the ACT lockdown to 17th September.

Anyone who has made an application does not need to make a new application – the new payments will be automatically applied if you are eligible.

ACT COVID-19 Small Business Hardship Scheme – up to $10,000

Eligible small businesses will soon be able to apply to the ACT Government to receive credits for payroll tax, utility charges, rates and other selected fees and charges up to a maximum of $10,000 per operator. To be eligible for credits the applicant must be able to demonstrate 30 per cent loss in revenue.

To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate a 30 per cent loss of revenue from June quarter 2021 to September quarter 2021 and have a turnover between $30,000 and $10 million.

The COVID-19 Small Business Hardship Scheme will open in October 2021. Detailed guidelines for the Small Business Hardship Scheme will be made available in the coming weeks.
ACT 2021 Small Tourism Operator Recovery Payment Businesses that can demonstrate a 30 per cent loss of revenue in July 2021 compared to April 2021 can apply for reimbursement of up to $15,000 per ABN for eligible expenses incurred in June and July 2021.

ACT Accommodation and Tourism Venue Operator support program Accommodation providers and private tourism venue operators who have experienced a 30 per cent reduction in revenue in July 2021 compared to April 2021 will receive a full rebate on their fixed water and sewerage charges for the first two quarter of 2021.

ACT Vehicle Registration Fee Waiver Vehicle registration fees will be waived for hire cars and charter buses registered in the ACT Hire cars and charter buses will be extended for another six months until 31st March 2022.
ACT Tourism Cooperative Marketing Fund Funding of $500,000 will be available to applications from two or more entities in two categories. $7,500 to $15,000 depending on the decline in turnover.

  • Eligible businesses with a turnover between $75,000 to $250 million that continue to experience a minimum 30 per cent decline in turnover due to the Public Health Order will be eligible for payments of up to 40 % of their pre-COVID weekly NSW payroll.
  • Eligible businesses in the hospitality, tourism, and recreation sectors with a turnover of more than $250 million and up to $1 billion that continue to experience the requisite decline in turnover will be eligible to receive payments of 40% of their pre-COVID weekly NSW payroll, up to $500,000 per week.
  • Eligible NFP organisations in the social support and animal welfare sectors with a turnover between $75,000 and $250 million that show a minimum 15% decline in turnover will be eligible for payments of up to 40% of their pre-COVID weekly NSW payroll.

Extension of the COVID-19 Micro-business Grant from 28th August:

  • Eligible businesses with a turnover of more than $30,000 and less than $75,000 that continue to experience a minimum 30 per cent decline in turnover due to the Public Health Order will be eligible for a fortnightly payment of $1,500.

NT Territory Business Lockdown Payment Program A once-off extended closure payment of $1,000 will be made available to eligible businesses that have experienced a significant downturn in turnover or ordered to shut following the chief health officer’s (CHO) direction.

Lockdown (round 2) payment is available from 17th August

QLD 2021 COVID-19 Business Support Grants Successful applicants will receive the total value of the boosted grants ranging from $1,000 to $30,000 depending on your business or not-for-profit organisation.

Business Support Grants opened at 12pm (midday), 16th August and will close on 16th November 2021

Non-employing sole traders update

The online application form will be available in September. Check the eligibility criteria, and register your interest. For queries about the grant for non-employing sole traders, phone the Office of State Revenue on 1300 300 734 and choose option 5.

QLD Tourism and hospitality support package

Eligible tourism and hospitality businesses that lodge payroll tax returns monthly can apply to defer paying their payroll tax liability due in August 2021 for six months.

Rent deferral is available for eligible tourism operators on state land for the period 1st July 2021 to 30th June 2022. More information coming soon.

Tourism businesses that operate in a national park, conservation park, recreation area or state forest, may have fees waived or refunded between 1st July 2021 and 30th June 2022.

QLD COVID-19 Cleaning rebate Businesses and community organisations throughout Queensland can apply for the COVID-19 Cleaning Rebate. The rebate will cover up to 80 per cent of cleaning costs, capped at $10,000 per incident, where a business is a confirmed COVID-19 exposure site Eligible businesses will be able to apply through this Business Queensland website in the near future.
SA COVID-19 Business Support Grant - July 2021 If the business meets the eligibility requirements and employs people in South Australia, they will receive a $3,000 grant. If they don’t employ anyone, they receive a $1,000 grant.

SA COVID-19 Additional Business Support Grant

Grants of $3,000 for employing businesses and $1,000 for non-employing businesses will be available for businesses in eligible industry sectors (those that have been significantly impacted by the restrictions) that have experienced a decline in turnover of 30 per cent or more because of the COVID-19 trading restrictions introduced from 28th July 2021.

A further grant of $1,000 will be available for eligible businesses (both employing and non-employing) with a commercial premise in the Adelaide CBD

Applications will open 13th August and will close on 17th October 2021.

Applications for the COVID-19 Additional Business Support Grant are now being accepted through the Department of Treasury and Finance application portal.

TAS Business Growth Loan Scheme

The Business Growth Loan Scheme will provide concessional loan funding to support:

The State’s businesses to recover, adapt, grow, and develop enhanced business models that support employment retention and business growth, and new projects that contribute towards employment and growth of the Tasmanian economy.

The scheme opened for applications on Monday 14th September 2020 and will close 12 months later or until all funding has been utilised, whichever occurs first.

VIC Business Costs Assistance Program Round Two July Extension

(Funding of up to $1.6 billion will support about 132,000 businesses across multiple sectors who were recipients of the Business Costs Assistance Program Round Two or July Extension.

Businesses throughout Victoria will receive automatic payments to cover ongoing costs such as wages, rent, utilities and insurance:

  • $2,800 a week for businesses with an annual payroll below $650,000
  • $5,600 a week for businesses with an annual payroll of $650,000 to $3 million
  • $8,400 for businesses with an annual payroll of $3 million to $10 million

VIC Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021

Up to $289 million funding will support more than 9,300 premises impacted by lockdown. Licensed hospitality businesses that have previously received grants under the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021 or July Extension programs will receive automatic payments based on premises capacity:

    $5,000 for a capacity of up to 99 patrons or where patron capacity is not specified
  • $10,000 for a capacity of 100 to 499 patrons
  • $20,000 for a capacity of 500 or more.

Hospitality businesses will remain eligible while they are unable to operate due to public health restrictions

VIC Small Business COVID Hardship Fund

The Small Business COVID Hardship Fund will receive a $448 million boost, increasing the total grant amount available to small and medium-sized businesses from $14,000 to $20,000 in recognition of the impact of the lockdown extension.

To access the grant, your business must be severely impacted by the COVID-19 lockdowns with a decline in turnover of 70% or more. This includes businesses that are legally allowed to operate but are restricted in their ability to generate revenue.

Applications are open from Thursday 12th August 2021 until program funds are exhausted or 11:59pm on Friday 10th September 2021, whichever is earlier.
VIC Business Continuity Fund $5,000 grants to up to around 30,000 businesses that remain impacted by capacity limits placed on businesses by necessary public health restrictions. Recipients will be contacted from mid-August to confirm they will receive a payment. Business Continuity Fund payments will be processed automatically.
VIC Commercial Landlord Hardship Fund Round 2 Grants of up to $3,000 per tenancy are available to eligible small landlords who reduce commercial rent for their tenants under Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme requirements.

VIC Alpine Support Package An Alpine Support Package will help sustain resorts through the remainder of the season and September school holidays with an automatic top-up payment of between $10,000 and $40,000, depending on business location and whether they employ staff.

VIC Impacted Public Events Support Program Eligible public events and public events suppliers affected by the lockdown will receive support of up to $25,000 and $10,000 respectively in addition to the support offered for the May/June lockdown.

VIC Live Performance Support Program (Suppliers) Round Two Suppliers may be eligible for either $200 or $500 per event, depending on the level of loss or unrecoverable costs incurred. They can apply for support for up to 20 events through Round One and Round Two of the program. There is a cap of $4000 in total support per applicant across the two rounds of the program.

Open for application from Wednesday, 18th August 2021 until 11:59pm on Wednesday, 8th September 2021 (three-week period).

VIC Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme 2021 More commercial tenants struggling with rent payments will benefit from rent relief, with the Victorian Government having finalised new regulations and broadened eligibility for the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme (the Scheme). The VSBC website will be updated in due course. Read more in our latest news update and access the regulations and FAQs for the Scheme. The Scheme is effective from on 28th July 2021 and will run until 15th January 2022.
VIC Support For Businesses In Regional Victoria Automatic cash grants will provide regional Victorian businesses with the support they need following the extension of the current lockdown to the whole state. Grants will be paid automatically to eligible businesses without the need for an application.
VIC New round of Small Business Digital Adaptation Program The Small Business Digital Adaptation Program provides $1200 rebates so small businesses can access a range of digital business tools. The program will be open until 11:59pm on 5th December 2021, or until the program’s funds are exhausted.
WA Small Business Lockdown Assistance Grant Eligible businesses will receive a grant of $3000. To be eligible, the business must meet all criteria at the start of the lockdown period on 29th June 2021.
