Who's Who

ICB is first and foremost a member based professional association. Our policies and philosophies are all for the enhancement of the members of the association.

Classes of Voting Members:

  • Fellows: Admitted by nomination and decision by the admissions board based on service to the bookkeeping community
  • Members: 2 years experience and assessment by ICB or formal qualifications
  • Associates: 1 Years experience and assessment by ICB or formal qualifications
  • Affiliates: No experience and assessment by ICB or formal qualifications

Executive Team

Matthew Addison, Executive Chairman

Matthew Addison is the Executive Chairman of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers Ltd (ICB).

He has been instrumental in representing and developing the bookkeeping profession since 1990. During this time Matthew has been involved in the development of Business Accounting Software, development of Software Company Partner Programs and development of the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (bringing in the recognition of Bookkeepers as Registered BAS Agents).

He represents ICB as Co-Chair of the ATO Tax Practitioner Stewardship Group (2018-2020), a member of the ATO BAS Agents Advisory Group and the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) Consultative Forum. Matthew was a Ministerial appointed member of the TPB from its inception in 2009 until 2015. Representing Bookkeepers at many ATO Working Groups including significant consultation on Single Touch Payroll. He is also a member of the Strategic Advisory Council for the ABR (Australian Business Register) including representation into the Modernising Business Registers program.

Matthew is the Vice President of the Digital Business Council; the collaborative group of Industry, associations, government and software driving the development of the Digital economy in Australia. The DBC currently leads the eInvoicing initiative.

He is a registered tax agent as Director of Addisons Productivity Solutions, a consulting, bookkeeping, accounting software (MYOB Certified Consultant) support business.

He takes an active role in professional (agents, bookkeepers and consultants) education, seminars and training. Matthew connected the Australian Bookkeeper community with ICB Global to bring The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers to Australia in late 2005. Matthew continues as a Director of ICB.

Amanda Linton, Chief Executive Officer

Amanda was appointed as CEO of ICB in 2017. Previously appointed as a Director of ICB in 2010, Amanda has extensive experience in the ICB journey to date, in addition to her history of Bookkeeping including being a sole trader and also running a multi-person bookkeeping practice in two states. In recent years Amanda has been a part of Freedom Connect Systems, a bookkeeping and training firm, including a bookkeeper mentoring service. Amanda is a registered BAS Agent and was a finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards in 2008. She continues to represent ICB and the Bookkeeping community at various consultative forums and works with Matthew Addison, our Executive Chairman, for the continuing operational growth and development of ICB.

Rick Van Dyk, Chief Development Officer

Rick joined ICB in April 2010. Holding a variety of roles and being instrumental in the developing journey of ICB. Rick has primary responsibility in managing the strategic Partnerships of ICB and is responsible for Development Initiatives for ICB Australia and inceasingly ICB Global. Representing the ICB community of Bookkeepers in the 2017 Education review, leading the call for change to a contemporary Cert IV that meets the professional needs of today's bookkeeper.

Robert Marshall, Support and Resource Manager

A registered BAS Agent with an Associate Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) and a MYOB Certified Consultant for over 20 years. Rob has run a multi-displinary training and consulting business including as trainer of the Cert IV in Bookkeeping in Bunbury WA. His experience extends from working with accounting firms, accounting software firms in support and training. He is also involved in Cricket WA

Rob takes on the Role with oversight and management of the support and resource team, product training, workshops and webinars. Rob is a Director of ICB.

ICB Team

When ICB commenced in 2005/06 our first employee started on 1/2 day per week.  In 2020 the ICB community is able to support a team of over 21 people.

Life Member of ICB

ICB award Life Membership to a person of longstanding involement (10 years or more) who has been actively engaged with ICB over an extended period including considerable contributions to ICB.

Life members must still complete their annual member certification statement, maintain PI Insurance (where applicable) and adhere to the ICB Professional Code of Conduct.
