Procedure
To commence the review, you are required to click 'Start Now' button. You will then be directed to the assessment page where you need to create an order by selecting "Annual Skill Review" and clicking “add to basket” which will send you a confirmation email confirming your order. You have 14 days to commence the assessment following this order.
You will then need to log onto MyICB and select 'Take a pre-booked online assessment' to access the skill review. Once you commence the assessment you have 2 hours to complete it.
The assessment is broken into five sections and your answers will automatically save so you have the ability to go back through each section to check you have answered everything correctly before clicking “finish”. Based on our trials to date the skill review should take between 1 and 1.5 hours. You must complete the review in one session.

The Annual Skill Review is a newsletter based skill review for members to test their current bookkeeping knowledge. The knowledge review is based on the ICB newsletters content of a 12 month period.
The review enhances and reinforces the Continuing Professional Education program of ICB. The skill review is open to members as part of your membership.
Each question includes the link to the applicable newsletter article. We believe that this is an extremely effective way to test your knowledge, continue your professional education and currency of your knowledge.
Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate of currency and the date of your last skill review will be stated on the ICB bookkeeper directory and your next practising certificate, where applicable. The assessment consists of 4 sections:
- General Bookkeeping
- Payroll
- GST
- BAS Agent
