Provision of Health Services and deductions

I have a client who is a naturopath and regularly goes to a chirpractor.  She has instructed me to deduct the cost to her of the Chiro as a business expnese.  Is this a valid deduction?  and does anyone have any reference material to support that?  Her entity is a trust of which she is the beneficiary.

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo,

My first reaction is that this would not be a valid deduction, however because she is a health care professional it’s possible she’s doing this for research purposes and not personal reasons, but I think that might be stretching the rules a bit as she receives personal benefits.

It would be good to hear from a health care professional directly.
