Context Introduction

To be a BAS Agent requires:

  1. Qualifications
    • Certificate IV Bookkeeping (or similar or greater)
    • BAS Agent Skill Set (Payroll Unit and Activity Statement Unit from Cert IV)
    • TASA 2009 and Code of Professional Conduct knowledge
  2. Relevant Experience within the last 3 years
  3. Be declared Fit and Proper
  4. Be over 18 years of age
  5. Professional Indemnity Insurance (if you are In Business which means running a bookkeeping business)
  6. Ongoing Education and/or Professional Development
  7. Complete the Tax Practitioners Board online application and provide supporting documents
  8. Pay the application fee to the TPB
