After a career in corporate accounting and finance, Roger commenced his own consultancy business, “Bentley Consulting”, over 30 years ago. The consultancy operated as a turnaround specialist for the first 10 years with Roger taking direct control of under-performing businesses, effecting the changes required to return them to profitable trading and then handing them back.
Through the 1990’s the focus of Bentley Consulting changed, largely due to an influx of work from major banks who were looking for certainty in regard to future trading outcomes as a condition of supporting and/or advancing funds to bank customers. To meet this demand Roger developed financial modelling methodologies and techniques which still underscore much of what Bentley does today.
With a focus on analysis, interpretation and segmentation of data, Bentley puts high value on data integrity – something it looks to the bookkeeping profession to deliver. Roger has worked across many industry sectors including retail, importing, warehouse and distribution, transport, manufacturing, and a range of service industries. In addition to these activities he is the managing director of two companies in the resource recovery sector, chief financial officer of an innovation company, as well as holding a number of roles in a variety of other businesses.
