Institute of Certified Bookkeepers

Our Executive Director, Matthew Addison, had the privilege of presenting on behalf of the Digital Business Council at the ABSIA (Australia Business Software Industry Association).

On October 10, the ATO signed a contract for the building of eInvoicing technologies central piece, the Digital Capability Locator (DCL). This tool will be used to discover the digital location for sending an electronic invoice.

Long-Term Goals: ICB believe this should be a government maintained infrastructure for the benefit of the Australian economy. The ATO are currently committed to developing and managing the accreditation process for the next era of establishment.

This step of engaging with Intech Solutions to build the DCL over the next few months should bring the entire eInvoicing Interoperability Framework into operation by February, 2018. Software companies can then adopt the standard and commence exchanging electronic invoices to all businesses.
