ICB response:

In short the ICB response will be to provide these resources or avenues to these resources as soon as possible. Refer to the ICB August Newsletter for recent updates. Specifically in relation to each of the above, in order:

  1. Commencing immediately ICB have released the first two guidance manuals for bookkeepers which include various information gathering worksheets and procedure checklists - keep watching as we draw on the best resources we can find and make them available to members. Suggestions / contributions welcome.

  2. We are working with the two major software houses as well as others to make available or point you to the most appropriate guides.

  3. www.ato.gov.au/bookkeepers exists and is a useful index page into the ATO resources of which there are many. Any ATO type information that you think would be useful let us know and we will take it to the right people inside the ATO to see if we can get it added or made available.

  4. The ICB website will increasingly add resources and guides to assist bookkeepers and accountants in improving the working relationship between them. ICB is working towards beneficial access / partnership to assist in obtaining accountants advice.

  5. Watch the bookkeeper relevant resources grow on the ICB website - suggestions / requests / contributions all welcome and considered

  6. The ICB bookkeeper telephone support service has been running since our launch. Users of the system appear to have been very happy at now having access to bookkeepers to assist. Call ICB on 1300 85 61 81 or email info@icb.org.au

  7. Refer member resources for new ICB guidance manuals

  8. The ICB is looking to create a number of ICB webpages that serve as pointers to useful references, they will be publicly available reference pages with the aim of helping bookkeepers
