Inquiry into the Tax Agent Services Bill 2008
Information about the Inquiry
On 26 November 2008, the Senate referred the provisions of the Tax Agent Services Bill 2008 to the Senate standing Committee on Economics for inquiry and report by 12 February 2009.
The bill seeks to establish a national board to register and regulate tax agents so as to protect their customers. It would also introduce a legislated code of professional conduct.
The Committee invites written submissions which should be sent to:

The closing date for submissions is Monday, 12 January 2009.
The Committee requests that where possible, submissions should also be provided by email to economics.sen@aph.gov.au preferably as MS Word or RTF format documents.
