Reckon introduces Payroll Premier accounting software

Media Release

3 July 2008

New software eases payroll processing headaches

Payroll no longer has to be a punishment.

Reckon’s new Payroll Premier 2008/09 accounting software makes payroll processing quicker, simpler and easier to understand. The software has a wide range of practical and time-saving functions that make quick work of even the most tedious payroll tasks for businesses of all sizes. There’s no confusing accounting jargon or complicated instructions to follow and the software grows with the business owner’s needs.

Payroll Premier’s Awards module minimizes data entry requirements by enabling payroll administrators and business owners charged with the task to calculate pay rates for full time, part time and casual employees. It also adds staff allowances and superannuation rates for one or more groups of employees.

The software, which is available in single and multi-user versions, interprets all standard conditions of employment such as annual leave accrual and overtime. Administrators are able to pre-determine the applicable pay rates for hours worked at various times and days of the week. All that’s required is to enter the start and finish time of each shift.

Salary rates and accrued leave can be included on individual pay slips which along with payment summaries can be e-mailed to employees as soon as payroll is finalized saving time and money.

To aid in understanding the details of payment calculations, business owners and payroll administrators can view individual components within Payroll Premier. The software illustrates how wages, commission payments, allowances, deductions, superannuation and many others are calculated.

With government legislation changing constantly, there can be questions over compliance. Payroll Premier eliminates these concerns by incorporating the new PAYG tax tables, state payroll tax rates and thresholds which took effect on 1 July. The included payment summaries help business owner’s ensure they comply with the ATO and in so doing reduce the administrative burden on the business.

In addition, Payroll Premier enables seamless and cost-effective superannuation integration with Reckon Tools SuperLink. This tool removes the complication of Super Choice compliance by enabling payroll administrators to create pays, export into SuperLink, and transmit the data online for processing. The SuperLink file automatically assigns key fund details and ensures all funds are credited safely and securely to each super fund.

Reckon’s Payroll Premier, single-user version, is priced at $629.00 (RRP). Multi-user is $1299.00 (RRP). The software is available online and from retailers nationwide.
