ICB meets with Treasury over draft legislation
Matthew Addison, Executive Director of ICB was invited to meet with Mr Paul McCullough, General Manager of Tax Systems Review Division of Treasury and senior members of his team on Friday 15th June.
Following a very productive and very positive meeting the ICB is pleased to state that the intention of the legislation and Explanatory Memorandum is far closer to having a productive and effective result and not the very broad “over the top” impact that it first seems.
Concerns of the ICB, which are shared by the majority of the bookkeeper industry whom we are in constant discussion with, have been considered extremely valid. The interpretation of the current draft of the legislation that we were able to present has identified areas of impact that should now see a change in the way the intention of the Assistant Treasurer is brought into effect.
Based on the consultative meeting with treasury we have revised the BSP Information paper on the website. Click here to download the amended version.
