ATO Bookkeepers Advisory Group meeting
ICB has participated in the 2 day tax office Bookkeepers Advisory Group meeting. Attended by ABN (Australian Bookkeepers Network), Franchise Bookkeepers Association, Accounting Associations (ICAA, CPA, NTAA, ATMA, CIMA), 5 individual bookkeeper practitioners, Bookkeeping Associations (AAPB, CBK, ICB) and 10 ATO members.
The purpose of the meeting includes collaboration, consultation and co-design of the tax system.
The second day was totally attributed to discussions around the interpretation and implementation of the draft BAS Service Provider legislation. ICB endorses the very positive actions of the tax office (who will be responsible for the implementation of this new law) in facilitating the discussion by the Bookkeeping industry. Notably absent was both NIA & AAT.
Further information about the session, the outcome and the system will be released shortly
ICB is providing BSP Information Sessions around the country during June & July.
