Ground Breaking Accreditation in the Phillipines
|
The Institute’s man in Manilla has done it again.
Our intrepid chief executive of the South East Asia Region, Henry Ong, has just informed us that the Institute’s qualifications have been awarded official recognition by the Philippines government. This means that the Institute is now the only accredited provider of bookkeeping qualifications in the country.
Henry is pictured here being congratulated by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at the official reception to mark the occasion, which was held at the Malacanang Palace. The ceremony was held in front of 500 government officials and scholars. The Philippines government through its agency, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), now officially accredits the Institute’s bookkeeping program leading to the Certified Bookkeeper qualification. The Certified Bookkeeper programme is a beneficiary of the Scholarship project of the Office of the President and Henry is confident that the bookkeeping programs will shortly be running in every college and university in the Philippines. This should boost ICB memberships!
Congratulations yet again to Henry and his fantastic team. |
