Practical Bookkeeping

Practical Bookkeeping Level I Assessment

This first assessment is to prove your basic manual bookkeeping skill and understanding and is not to be completed in an accounting software package; Excel spreadsheets are most acceptable.

Successful completion of this assessment will indicate a bookkeeper who can process business transactions and is able to record business transactions in a “manual” bookkeeping system i.e., spreadsheets.

Prerequisites:

This level of bookkeeper competently accounts for the following business activities:

  • Entering payments
  • Receipts
  • Invoices
  • Purchases

Practical Bookkeeping Assessment Level II

A bookkeeper with experience and competence, who is able to review the work entered by others and assist in reconciling accounts and processing payroll, will be able to complete this assessment.

Prerequisites

This level of bookkeeper competently accounts for the following business activities:

  • Enters transaction accurately and consistently
  • Review the work entered by others
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Process payroll

Practical Bookkeeping Assessment - Level III

The main focus is on the learning outcomes of these experiences, not the how, when or where the learning occurred. Successful completion of this assessment, along with the submission of your MYOB data file, is required to fulfill the requirements for the Level III ICB Practical Bookkeeping Assessment.

This assessment is to test your knowledge on TPAR to ensure you are ready to prepare Taxable Payments Annual Reports for your clients.

Annual Skill Review

ICB Annual Skill Review

The ICB Skill Review assessment draws information from the previous 12 months ICB Member Newsletters. The ICB Annual Skill Review assessment consists of 36 questions including areas of:

  • General bookkeeping
  • GST
  • Payroll
  • BAS Agent
