Minimum Wage Increase

This morning (June 1, 2012) Fair Work Australia announced its decision in the Annual Wage Review 2011-12.

The outcome in relation to modern award minimum wages is that from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2012 minimum weekly wages are increased by 2.9 per cent, with commensurate increases in hourly rates on the basis of a 38 hour week.

The national minimum wage will also then increase by 2.9% to $606.40 per week or $15.96 per hour.

Allowances will similarly be adjusted in accordance with the provisions of all modern awards.
