Membership by Accountant Referal

Membership by Accountant referal

The Institute will accept proof of competence by Accountant referal as a route into membership.

If you are already a bookkeeper but hold no formal qualifications, or your qualifications were taken too long ago to be acceptable for entry by exemption, you would be required to provide the name and email address of two Australian Accountants (who are familiar with your bookkeeping work over the last two years) to whom the Institute can contact on your behalf.

Once your application is received, the Institute will send a detailed specification sheet to each referee, asking them to tick off each area of the ICB syllabus in which they are willing to testify that your competancy.

Referees are required to sign the specification and confirm their own qualification, which will be verified with the relevant institute before the reference is processed.

Once both referees have responded your application will then be submitted to ICB's Admissions Board for their approval.
